Inspired by Recent Events in the Knitting World...

If you've been been keeping an eye on the online knitting community, you know there has been a major kerfuffle that I've found rather entertaining.  It all involved a a couple of non-knitters and a lot of overconfidence.

And after the SpaceCadet Crew had stopped gasping in horror at the incredibly offensive and condescending things they said... and then rolling on the floor laughing (and honestly, it took a long time to stop laughing), we found ourselves doing what comes naturally to us as dyers...

Taking inspiration from the situation and interpreting it into gorgeous colour! I mean... how could we not?

The first colourway: Mainsplain It to Me

"Mansplain It to Me" is layered with the very manliest of hues: deep forest greens and dark mud browns washed over cold sky greys.

It's a colourway to make you feel bold, adventurous, and ready to take on the world... whether that world wants to be taken on or not.

And its nemesis: Needles Up & Hooks Out

"Needles Up & Hooks Out" combines a gentle pink base covered in splatters of bright blood reds, rage-like oranges, and a pure dead-eyed black. 

It's a colourway that embodies everything about a seemingly calm exterior that masks hidden strengths and unexpected sophistication.

Oriana is an sock twist fingering yarn with 8 plies that give extra strength and durability.

Fiber Content: 90% Superwash Merino, 10% Nylon; 8-ply
Weight: Fingering; Each skein is approximately 3.5oz/100g, and the yarn contains approximately 420 yards per 100g

Callisto is a yarn that just can't be adequately described. Alpaca for warmth, softness, and a delightfully subtle halo.  Silk for incredible sheen.  And linen for absolutely stunning drape. It's a yarn to fall in love with, over and over again.

Fiber Content: 50% Alpaca, 25% Silk, and 25% Linen; 3-ply
Weight: Fingering;  Each skein is approximately 3.5oz/100g, and the yarn contains approximately 435 yards per 100g

Lyra (leer-a or lie-ra) is beautifully spoingy yarn that's a joy to use.  Lyra's cabled 8-ply construction gives it a loftiness that feels fantastic, and the strength to used for anything from socks to sweaters.

Fiber Content:100% Superwash Merino; 8-ply
Weight: Sport/DK; Each skein is approximately 3.5oz/100g, and the yarn contains approximately 270 yards per 100

Vega is the sister of our incredibly popular cabled 8-ply Lyra. Plump and round, Vega gives great stitch definition, extra durability and — best of all — tons of sproinginess!

Fiber Content:100% Superwash merino wool; cabled 8-ply
Weight: Worsted; Each skein is approximately 3.5oz/100g, and the yarn contains approximately 215 yards per 100g

Very Important Stuff: All hand-dyed yarns can vary between and within dyelots and their true beauty is the individuality in every skein.  Please be sure to order enough yarn for your project, to reduce the chance of differences between your skeins.  If you'd prefer to reduce any variation in your project, we recommend alternating skeins every two rows in your project. Please remember that our photos are as accurate as possible, but the colours you see also depend on your computer monitor's settings. Where there are multiple skeins pictured, each is sold separately.
