The Colourways:
Three beautiful options

- Cold Stream (a semi-solid coordinating colourway)
- Ice Bound (a painterly coordinating colourway)
And where it widens, we’ll often see a Great Blue heron, standing stock still, watching for the fish (dinner!) swimming between his legs. He doesn’t seem to mind the cold weather, standing in the water even as it , either in the creek or flying low overhead as he comes in for landing. Which is exactly what happened the day we sat down to plan a new colourway for the Yarn Alliance – he flew over Jade’s head before landing in the icy creek to look for fish. It felt like inspiration alighted.
For the graphic colourway in your parcel, we wanted to represent our heron against a snowy winter backdrop. We created a beautiful moody blue that suits both our heron’s wings and the water he’s standing in. When we partially submerged the skeins, the colour wicked up the fibers beautifully and faded out as it did. Then we dyed a lovely, deep grey – another hue in our heron’s plumage, as well as a reflection of the ice and snow along the stream – and did the same with it, partially submerging and allowing the dye to travel along the skein. The result is a colourway that is crisp and clean, much like the winter day that inspired the it, with flashes of our lovely heron’s plumage that will add a heathered quality to your final project.
And for our coordinating colourways, we took those same hues a layered them differently onto the skein. In our painterly skein, we passed the yarn through each dyebath one at a time, letting the colour sink into the fibers and layer over each other. For the semi-solid, we submerged the yarn entirely into the blue, then washed the grey over it to create depth of colour

Celeste is a smooth and light yarn that gives an incredibly generous 490yds per skein.
Fiber Content: 100% Superwash Merino; 3-ply
Weight: Fingering; Each skein is approximately 3.5oz/100g, and the yarn contains approximately 490 yards per 100g

- Order as many skeins as you like, and we will get them in the dyepots for you! Because this is a custom process, please allow up to 4-6 weeks for your order to be ready.
- Yarn Alliance Members' Price! Normally priced at $28.99, the colourway is available exclusively to the members of the Yarn Alliance for the special price of $26.
- This yarn will be remain available to order for a full month from the time you receive this email. The listing will be marked as sold out at 11:59pm (eastern) on 5 April 2024.
- A very important note: As you all know, different dyelots rarely match perfectly, especially in hand-dyed yarns. Although we will do everything in our power to replicate the yarns from first dyelot, the yarn you receive may not match perfectly. Do bear this in mind if an exact match is important to you. To minimise any visible impact when using hand-dyed yarns, we always recommend alternating skeins every couple of rows in your project.
