The SpaceCadet Has Got the Blues...

...in the best possible way!

Blue such a soothing colour -- it's the clear sky on crisp autumn day, the icy edges of a frozen pond, the rolling waves breaking on a tropical beach, the hottest flame of a cosy winter fire.  Blue is a colour we've been longing to explore more deeply so, a few months ago, we went into the studio and dyed a collection of blues that I just love and am simply delighted to share with you!

Here are our six gorgeous, new shades of blue that work so beautifully together... and also blend into the other blues in the SpaceCadet palette.  Choose one or combine them all -- the colour possibilities are just so exciting!

First your colourway, then your yarn...

The Colourways

First, choose your colourways, either from the new blues:

  • Classic: a simply beautiful deep blue
  • Sea Emerald: a rich teal that's tilting toward green
  • Atmosphere: the darker side of our ever-popular Feather colourway
  • Hello, My Name is Indigo: a deep indigo
  • Hello Sailor: a rich, semi-solid navy
  • Zoot: an electric turquoise so incredibly intense that it is literally off the scale of what a camera can capture, so while the image you see here is not true to the colour at all, it's not one to be missed!

Or from our standard blues:

  • Feather: our super-popular, almost-always-perfect teal blue
  • Frigia: the iciest of icy blues
  • Look Up!: a pure and intense true blue
  • Dark Matter: ok, it's not a blue, it's a super-dark charcoal grey, but it looks so good with these blues that we just have to include it!

The Yarns

Pick your yarn base from the options below: there are two awesome fingerings, a fabulous sport/dk, and an equally fabulous worsted.  Choose your combo from the dropdown menu and you're all set!

(We have limited stock in some of our other bases too -- if there's one you really want, email us and we'll see what we can do)

At SpaceCadet, we passionately believe that knitting and crocheting make people happier deep down inside and that nothing does that more than working with gorgeous, vibrant yarn. For us, dyeing is a cosmic adventure -- a wonderful process of mixing each shade by hand from primaries and seeing where the colour takes us. The result is yarn that is as exciting for you as it is for us. Come with us and explore the farthest reaches of SpaceCadet colour!

Very Important Stuff: All hand-dyed yarns can vary between and within dyelots and their true beauty is the individuality in every skein.  Please be sure to order enough yarn for your project, to reduce the chance of differences between your skeins.  If you'd prefer to reduce any variation in your project, we recommend alternating skeins every two rows in your project. Please remember that our photos are as accurate as possible, but the colours you see also depend on your computer monitor's settings. Where there are multiple skeins pictured, each is sold separately.
