When you hold a SpaceCadet yarn in your hands, you’re holding all the adventure of our ten years’ experience in hand-mixing primary hues layered one upon another in an endless exploration of colour.  Our semi-solids are rich and undulating, and our variegateds pop with bursts of unexpected colour, all dyed on truly luxurious fibers that will make your next project a colour exploration of your own!

What makes the yarn special?

If laceweight could ever be described as a “workhorse”, Pyxis would be that.  Light and airy, it’s 2-ply superwash merino soaks up rich colour and is sturdy enough to be more than your typical laceweight.

Even better, it loves to be held double, creating a slightly thicker yarn that allows the colours to do absolutely mesmerising things!

  • Fiber Content: 100% Superwash Merino; 2-ply
  • Weight: Lace; Each skein is approximately 3.5oz/100g, and the yarn contains approximately 875 yards per 100g
  • How does this yarn take colour?  Pyxis is 100% Superwash Merino, so it takes colour beautifully, and the results will be very similar to the pictures on the left.

At SpaceCadet, we passionately believe that knitting and crocheting make people happier deep down inside and that nothing does that more than working with gorgeous, vibrant yarn.  For us, dyeing is a cosmic adventure -- a wonderful process of mixing each shade by hand from primaries and seeing where the colour takes us.  The result is yarn that is as exciting for you as it is for us.  Come with us and explore the farthest reaches of SpaceCadet colour!

Colour note for Zoot: Zoot is an electric turquoise so incredibly intense that it is literally off the scale of what a camera can capture so, while the image you see here is not true to the colour at all, it's not one to be missed!

Very Important Stuff: All hand-dyed yarns can vary between and within dyelots and their true beauty is the individuality in every skein.  Please be sure to order enough yarn for your project, to reduce the chance of differences between your skeins.  If you'd prefer to reduce any variation in your project, we recommend alternating skeins every two rows in your project. Please remember that our photos are as accurate as possible, but the colours you see also depend on your computer monitor's settings. Where there are multiple skeins pictured, each is sold separately.
